All About the Horror, Baby! (2022/09/12)

The Things That Love Us Back

18 Stories of Love and Horror

Commas are important, otherwise the title of this update would be about some manner of freakish horror baby, and that simply wouldn't do at all!

I'm back, and this time the update is all about my upcoming collection of horror short stories. The title has changed again! This kind of thing happens, but this time I'm sticking with it. The collection is now (and forever) entitled: The Things That Love Us Back. I had to change it again because Live, Love, Die implied there would be a comedic element to the stories, and there really, really isn't. I feel this new title captures the stories' creepy nature while also being faithful to their themes/genres of love and horror.

I am working on the final edits for each story, then I will finalize the hardcover, paperback, and ebook versions for upload to Amazon KDP. I have cover art coming together too. This puts the project at about 95% compete, so that's exciting (at least for me)!

Why has this collection taken me 3+ years to finish? Good question. It's because I work on several projects at once, switching whenever I get bored of or run out of ideas for the one I'm currently working on. This means that while I'm getting lots of things done steadily across all my projects, progress on any one project can be glacially slow.

So...what can you expect in the near future? I'm hoping to finish the final edits within a week or so, then finish the cover art and formatting in another week. Then, it'll be time to start marketing this bad boy and getting it out into the world.

I am confident that this book will be released before the end of the year, and then I can focus on editing the final draft of The Higher Law, my insane fantasy novel.

What happens after that? Who knows! (I know, but I don't want to give too much away right now).

Peace!
